Medemblik, Jacob; Taken home to be with the Lord on January 17th, 2012 in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Detje (Detty) for 52 years. Jacob will be greatly missed by his son Terrance and his wife Louie; his daughter Angela Smylie and her husband John. Fondly missed by his grandchildren Alec, Ruth and Gareth Medemblik; Ian, Lindsay, Jessica Quinn (nee Smylie) and her husband Travis and Megan Smylie. Survived by his siblings Wiets Smits (Neth), Griet Vanderzwaag (Hamilton), Henry (Alice) Medemblik (Hamilton), John Medemblik (Fergus) and Herman (Renske) Medemblik (Neth). Jacob will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Friday, January 20th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held at Maranatha Canadian Reformed Church, 600 Belsyde Ave. East in Fergus, on Saturday, January 21st at 11am.
