McTaggart, Peter John; Surrounded by loved ones, Pete McTaggart passed away at home, on December 8, 2009. Beloved husband of Bonnie. Cherished son of Margaret McTaggart (nee Müter) and brother to Tom McTaggart (Raquel) and Mike McTaggart (Mary). Loving step-father to Max Bryant (Tamorah) and Jill Bryant (Daryn Lehoux). Precious grandfather to Zoë and Mari Lehoux. Predeceased by his father Robert McTaggart. Pete was a wonderful man who inspired many people with his positive outlook, constant good nature, and humorous stories. Together with his brother Tom, Pete owned McTaggart Insurance Brokers in Etobicoke — a family business started by their grandfather. Later, Pete pursued a new career path and drove a truck for Guardian Glass in Rexdale. As a long-time volunteer for the Guelph Distress Centre, Pete helped others in crisis. Pete was actively involved in the Eden Mills Community Club. He belonged to The Guelph Flying Club and had a passion for flying small aircrafts. Pete will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, "Hart Chapel", 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Friday, December 11 at 2pm. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service (1-2pm).
