Mayor's golf tournament organizers invite applicants to share in proceeds
The fifth annual Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 13 at Pike Lake Golf Centre.
Proceeds from the event are donated to community groups in Minto. The organizing committee is looking for applications from non-profit organizations in Minto, that fit into one of three categories: community betterment, service club or Sports club. The application deadline is March 23.
Over the past four years, the tournament raised $32,000 for local groups. Funds have gone to planter baskets and beautifying Minto downtowns, buying new baseball equipment and assisting organizations with financial expenses to run programs in the community.
