Mayor's golf tournament now accepting applications for donations

Applications are now being accepted for the fourth annual Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament, set for Aug. 14 at the Pike Lake Golf Centre.

Minto council was advised  at is Feb. 3 meeting by business and economic coordinator Mandy Jones that the application process for Minto-based non-profit organizations wishing to receive funds will close on March 14.

Over the past three years, the tournament has raised $24,000 for local Sports groups, service clubs or community betterment organizations.

“This money has gone toward planter baskets and beautifying our downtowns, the purchase of new baseball equipment and assisting organizations with the financial expense of running these important programs in our community,” the town states in a press release.
