May building activity up 156% over 2009

Bol­stered by a strong May, 2010 has well surpassed 2009 in terms building activity in the township here.

 

As of the end of last month, the township has issued 128 permits for projects that have generated $94,940  in  fees and that have a total estimated value of over $15.8-million.

Last year at that time, those figures were 100, less than $9.2-million, and $73,915 respectively.

This May alone, construction values were about $4.9-million (51 projects), up 156% from just over $1.9-million in 2009 (27 projects).

Last month building permits generated $27,780 in fees for the township – up 62% over $17,105 in May 2009.
