Mass band

Emmanuel Christian High School (ECHS) welcomed 150 students from all over Canada this Easter weekend to form a mass band. Together with ensembles from Christian schools in Langley, BC; Edmonton, AB; Winnipeg, MB; and Hamilton, ON, the Emmanuel Christian Orchestra performed on Easter Monday at the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre at Mohawk College in Hamilton for a sold out audience. The Mass Band event takes place every two to three years and this year it was ECHS’s turn to host. “The theme of the concert this year, Rhythms in Time, was chosen based on the popular passage from the Bible, Ecclesiastes 3:1 - ‘For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven,’ said ECHS music director Stephen DeBoer. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to build community and foster relationships with others of like mind and interest from across the country.”    Submitted photo
