DRAYTON – Twenty-eight Grade 6 students from Maryborough Public School participated in a “Shop with a cop and a firefighter” event on Dec. 19 at the Drayton Freshmart, raising $3,000 in donations for the local food bank.

“We had 14 teams with many volunteers from the OPP and local firefighters,” officials stated.

The winning team consisted of OPP Constable Patrick Mullan, Avery Huber and Maya Deen, who purchased food bank donations totalling $199.88.

“They added up everything by hand accurately as they were shopping,” stated teacher Lori Albrecht.
