Black belt – Margaret Paul of Shidokan Canada Karate was promoted to 7th degree black belt and awarded the title of Kyoshi (master teacher) on Nov. 20. The rank was granted by 89-year-old Grandmaster Seikichi Iha, Hanshi 10th Dan. Hanshi Iha is the holder of the designation “Intangible Cultural Asset” and is considered a national treasure by the Japanese government for his lifelong dedication to teaching karate and kobudo. Black belt – Margaret Paul of Shidokan Canada Karate was promoted to 7th degree black belt and awarded the title of Kyoshi (master teacher) on Nov. 20.
