Maranatha Christian School join Fergus Lions in roadside cleanup

Roadside cleanup – On the morning of June 4, Grade 8 students and teacher volunteers from Maranatha Christian School joined with the Lions Club of Fergus to conduct the semi-annual roadside cleanup along Highway 6 South.

“These kids are real eager beavers,” said Fergus Lion Brian Martin, who organizes the event twice each year. “They work hard to keep the ditches clear while having fun doing it.”

The Lions Club donated a cheque for $500 to the school as a show of appreciation. The Lions Club would like to thank Elliot Bus Lines and their driver Cora for providing the bus to transport the students and Tim Hortons (Tower St. South) for donating treats for the students after the cleanup.
