MAPLETON – On May 3, Mapleton, Minto and Wellington North fire services got together to tackle the Ontario Fire College Mobile Live Fire Training Unit. This marks the first time Mapleton has received the training trailer as municipalities must apply for one of the five units. Roughly 50 volunteer firefighters went through the training process last Saturday, with nearly 200 going through the trailer from April 30 to May 4. According to training officer Derrick Givens, the whole process takes two hours to complete.
