Mapleton-Minto 81's lose series

The Komoka Classics completed their comeback from a 2-0 series deficit, winning four in a row to take the WOAA Senior ‘AA’ championship from the Mapleton-Minto 81’s in six games.

The Classics won 7-4 in Palmerston on April 17 and took game six by a 5-4 count in Komoka on April 19.

In game five, the 81’s got a pair of goals from Andrew Coburn and singles from Scott Tregunna and Vic Scheulter. Reed Norman had a pair of assists in the game, with Coburn, Tregunna, Scheulter and Todd Norman also assisting on Mapleton-Minto goals.

Josh Leis faced 53 shots in the 81’s net, while the team fired 44 at Komoka netminder K.J.  Robinson.

The 81’s wrap up their season with a banquet on April 26 at 5pm at the Palmerston Community Centre.
