Mapleton Custom Rodders rev up donation for Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation

Car club contribution – Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation development officer Dale Franklin recently visited members of the Mapleton Custom Rodders club to receive an advance donation to the foundation’s annual Health Care Heroes Radiothon campaign.

“We are fundraising to purchase three new scopes for surgical services and our goal is a lofty $125,000, so this donation is a welcome one,” said Franklin.

The funds were raised at the club’s popular car show, held in June.

This year, after a COVID-forced hiatus, the club had a record 271 cars registered for the show, which was dedicated to the memory of Randy Wood and Jim Walter, both long standing members of the club who passed away in 2021.

“Over the years, this generous organization has contributed $9,000 to equipment purchases at [Palmerston and District Hospital]. We are very grateful,” Franklin stated.
