Maple Construction Group to repair, remove sidewalks in Arthur, Mount Forest for $87,000
KENILWORTH – Wellington North has hired Maple Construction Group to replace and remove sidewalks in Mount Forest and Arthur.
Sidewalks will be replaced:
– on Queen Street West, Mount Forest (various sections between Dublin Street to Normanby Street);
– on Albert Street, Mount Forest (various sections between Egremont Street to Church Street); and
– on Frederick Street West, Arthur (east side between George Street and Edward Street).
The sidewalk will be removed on the north side Waterloo Street in Mount Forest between Arthur and William streets.
The request for tender was advertised on the township website from March 5 to April 11, and the township received 11 bids on the project, ranging from $86,769 to $199,970 – before tax.
Maple Construction Group was the lowest bid, meets all requirements and had satisfactory references, township staff stated in a report.
The other bids were from 978481 Ontario Inc ($93,499), Emmacon Corp ($95,105), Autoform Contracting London Ltd ($108,338), D Rock Paving ($109,313), Chad Hartman Construction ($124,710), Amazing Construction Ltd ($125,498), DPA Contracting Ltd ($131,054), Aloia Bros. Concrete Contractors Ltd. ($134,763), PSCO Technical Group ($146,283) and Shayk Construction Inc ($199,970).
The total cost of the project is expected to come to $126,769 before tax, including a $20,000 contingency allowance and $20,000 in engineering contract administration, inspection and material testing.
