Man hurt in farm accident

ARTHUR TWP. - The county OPP was called to an injury on a farm on Highway 6 on July 22 at 11:45am.

OPP Constable Keith Robb Robb said the incident occurred when the victim, James Martin, 46, of Arthur township, was reversing his farm tractor when a bucket fell onto him and crushed him.

Firefighters from the Mount Forest Fire Department and paramedics from Guelph Wellington Ambulance also responded. Paramedics transported Martin to Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest. He was later airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

The Farm Safety Board was notified of the incident.
