Man charged with sexual abuse, luring a child
GUELPH – A Guelph man faces several sexual assault and luring charges following an investigation involving a child. In August, a 12-year-old girl disclosed to police she met a man on social media.
“Despite telling him her age, he began to send her explicit images of himself as well as pornographic clips,” stated a Dec. 17 press release from Guelph Police.
On Sept. 1, an 18-year-old Guelph man was arrested for luring a person under 16, exposure to a person under 16 and distributing intimate images to a person under 16.
His phone was seized at the time of his arrest.
Following more investigation, the man now faces additional charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material. He is to appear in Guelph court on Jan. 20.
