GUELPH - On Feb. 22, Guelph Little Theatre (GLT) welcomed members of the public to celebrate a grant of $37,500 received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation last month.

Guelph MPP Mike Schreiner and Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) volunteer David Murray were on hand to congratulate GLT for their successful OTF grant application.

GLT will now be able to upgrade to the overall infrastructure of their mainstage and lighting system, which theatre officials say will make a significant difference from an audience perspective.

“I congratulate the theatre on receiving a new Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant,” said Schreiner.

“This will allow them to significantly upgrade the current stage infrastructure, providing a stronger space for even more fantastic performances. I look forward to attending an upcoming GLT performance.”

Bruce Bennett, GLT past president and department head for lighting, said, “GLT is delighted that through this OTF Capital Grant, increased and improved production capacity will provide more opportunity for the community to access the performing arts.”

Established in 1935, the theatre is in the heart of the City of Guelph.

GLT is a volunteer community theatre organization, with a season that includes five different shows, plus a One Acts festival.
