MacPherson Builders, developer and builder of Strathlea Fergus, a new home community at the north end of town, is doing its part to add to the festive spirit, by organizing big screen showings of two holiday classics… with free admission and free popcorn.
Compliments of MacPherson Builders, the Fergus Grand Theatre will play the timeless classic Miracle on 34th Street starring Maurine O’ Hara, John Payne and Natalie Wood on Sunday, December 22 at 2 p.m. And on Monday, December 23 – also at 2 p.m. – the theatre will show what many consider the best holiday season movie of all time – It’s a Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore.
Admission to the shows is based on a first come, first served basis. The doors to the lobby area and concession stand for each showing will open at 1 pm and doors to the 252 seat theatre will open at 1:30pm. The theatre is located right downtown, at 244 St. Andrew Street West.
MacPherson Builders president Russell Higgins says the free movie and popcorn event is MacPherson’s way of giving back to the community. “This is just our way of doing something special for the Fergus-Elora community,” observes Higgins, who adds “we just want people to come out, have a good time and get into the holiday spirit.”
