Locals successful in regional pageants
Two girls from northern Wellington County were successful last weekend at the Ontario Miss Mid West and Ontario Little Miss Princess Pageants.
Rachel Smyth, 12, of Kenilworth, claimed the title of Little Miss Princess. The daughter of Christopher and Victoria Smyth, Rachel attends Kenilworth Public School and was represented at the pageant by Emily Design Dance Studio of Hanover.
Emily Burgess, 19, of Harriston, was named Miss Mid West Queen. She is the daughter of Gary and Cathy Burgess and was sponsored at the event by the Fire Fighters Association of Ontario. Emily attends Waterloo University and is seeking a career as a public speaker for a humanitarian organization.
