Local winners at Childcare Awards of Excellence

The seventh annual Childcare Awards of Excellence for Wellington County were held here Nov. 3 in recognition of outstanding contributions made by the early childhood educators, childcare workers, and their respective childcare centres and is sponsored by the Quality Childcare Initiative and the County of Wellington Childcare Services.

The winners were:

- Living Your Philosophy, Victory Kids Club, sponsored by: Homewood Health Centre;

- Partnerships with the community, the Salvation Army Nursery School, sponsored by: The Co-operators;

- Partnerships with Families, Mount Forest Child Care and Learning Centre, sponsored by: Donna Lero, University of Guelph;

- Centre for Families, work and well-being quality programming within Private Home Child Care, Sarah Loughran, sponsored by: Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health; and

- program evaluation,  Little Angels Development, sponsored by the Community Resource Centre of North and Central Wellington.
