Local teenager facing child pornography charge

Images of 14-year-old shared online by students at a county school: OPP

WELLINGTON COUNTY – A local teenager is facing child pornography charges after distributing intimate images of another teen on social media.

Wellington County OPP officials say students at a county school shared images of a fellow 14-year-old student “in a social media chat group.”

A 15-year-old was charged with:

  • importing, distributing, selling or possessing for the purpose of distribution/sale of child pornography; and
  • making an intimate image available without consent.

The accused, who can’t be identified due to their age, is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.

Police would not say what municipality the victim and accused are from, nor would they identify their genders.
