Local seniors program to be honoured with award
Clerk Patty Sinnamon says the Close to Home seniors program will be honoured with an award from the Alzheimer Society.
She told council she thinks the award is a reflection of the great work the program does and it should bode well for future funding.
Sinnamon recently said a three-year $507,500 grant for the program will soon expire and the township, as the lead for the program, will be seeking three more years worth of funding from the Waterloo-Wellington Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).
The Mapleton program was one of 20 in the network’s catchment area to receive a grant in February 2008.
