Local racers made a big donation to support Special Olympics

For the fourth year in a row the North Wellington Brave­hearts – a special Olympics Sports group – has been the recipient of a big cheque from Hillbilly Racing, a group of dedicated Stock 4 drivers at the Motor Speedway here

Hillbilly Racing works all season long at Varney Motor Speedway selling Hillbilly mer­chandise and raffle tickets to raise money and awareness  for the area’s  Special Olym­pics athletes.

They thank all of this year’s sponsors and drivers for their support.

The early bird winners this year received a  family pass to Varney Speedway, food vouch­er, 8×10 photo with a race winner:

– first draw, Murray Duke Kitchener’

– second draw, Tony Carere, Guelph;

– third, Aaron McLean,  Mount Forest.

The main draw winners were:

– first, an  Engenius extended range cordless phone system donated by Trepx Solutions, won by  Crystal Black Shelburne;

– second, a bear chain saw carving donated by Peter Mog­en­sen, won by Shay McFadden, of Markdale;

– third, four tickets to a Michigan Sprint Cup Race, donated by Hillbilly Racing and won by Amanda Gerber, of  Palmerston;

– fourth, a gift basket donated by I.C. Flowers and TH Custom Auto,  won by M. Moran Toronto;

– fifth, a 36-inch porcelain collectible doll, donated by eloradollhouse.com  won by Donna Mclean, Cambridge.
