MOUNT FOREST – A local man has been charged with arson after portable toilets were set on fire here recently.

On July 29 at about 9pm, Wellington County OPP responded to multiple reports of a person setting fire to outdoor rental toilets at Campbell DeVore Park, at the corner of Cork Street and Princess streets in Mount Forest.

"Further calls were received of that same person attempting to light multiple objects on fire throughout Mount Forest," stated an Aug. 9 OPP press release.

Nicholas Irving, 19, of Wellington North, was charged with arson (damage to property) and is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
