Local fair ambassador a semi-finalist at CNE

Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society  fair ambassador Quinn Wilson was a semi-finalist at the Canadian National Exhibition’s (CNE) 46th annual Ambassador of the Fairs Competition.

The competition winner was Erica Sayles from the Paris Fair (Paris Agricultural Society).

Sayles will travel across Ontario as a representative of the CNE and all agricultural fairs in the province.

Sayles was one of seven finalists who participated in the final round of the competition on Aug. 20.

Finalists were interviewed and judged on a wide range of criteria, including knowledge of the CNE and Canadian agriculture, poise, self-confidence, public speaking and overall impression.

The first runner-up was Sadie-Jane Hickson from the Lindsay Agricultural Society and the second runner-up was Emily Van Bommel from the Embro and Zorra Agricultural Society.

The other Ambassador of the Fairs semi-finalists included:

- Wilson;

- Katelyn Shantz, Wilmot Agricultural Society;

- Tori English, Norwood Agricultural Society; and

- Victoria Ramseyer, Tavistock Agricultural Society.
