Local dojo competes in Waterloo

On Nov. 13,students from Elora Gorge Karate Dojo travelled to Waterloo for the 2016 KW Meibukan Fall Shiai. This event saw students test their skills in Kata, Team Kata, Kobudo, and Bunkai.

Students from Elora, who placed in their divisions are: Youth White & Yellow Belt Kata - Carter Chaffe 3rd; Youth Junior Brown Belt Kata - Mya Krabbe  1st; Youth Senior Brown Belt Kata – Joel Schieck 2nd, Jasper Acheson 3rd; Youth Blue and Brown Belt Team Kata – Jasper, Christopher and Joel 1st; Youth Brown Belt Kobudo – Joel Schieck 1st, Jasper Acheson 2nd, Christopher Schieck 3rd; Adult Blue & Brown Kata – Gordon Denton 2nd; Adult Green- Brown Belt Kobudo – Gordon Denton 2nd; Black Belt (Shodan) Kata – Madelyn Richardson (Shodan-Ho) 1st, Blaire Bauman 2nd; Black Belt (Shodan and Up) Kobudo – Madelyn Richardson 2nd, Bryon Brideau 3rd; Black Belt (Shodan and Up) Team Kata – Madelyn and Blaire.
