Local chambers hosting Perth-Wellington candidates meeting Sept. 14

Another debate focusing on agricultural issues is set for Sept. 15

PERTH- WELLINGTON – Perth-Wellington candidates in the federal election will participate in a virtual meeting on Sept. 14.

The Zoom format event, hosted by chambers of commerce from Arthur, Mapleton, Minto and Mount Forest, as well as local radio station 88.7 The River, will begin at 7pm.

Anyone wishing to take it in can register at Eventbrite.ca or watch on Facebook Live.

Participating candidates will be:

  • Liberal Brendan Knight;
  • NDP Kevin Kruchkywich;
  • People’s Party of Canada Wayne Baker; and
  • Conservative John Nater.

Members of the public can submit questions for the candidates when registering, or by emailing them to gm@887theriver.ca.

Agriculture-focused debate

The Wellington Federation of Agriculture (WFA) is hosting a video-conference debate for Perth-Wellington candidates focusing on agricultural issues on Sept. 15 at 7:30pm.

Email wellington@ofa.on.ca to receive a link to the meeting or request a meeting recording.

Potential questions for candidates must be submitted no later than two days prior to the meeting to be reviewed by the WFA’s board of directors.
