Local cases of COVID-19 levelling off
WELLINGTON COUNTY - The active COVID-19 case count continues a downward trend across the region after reaching a record-high of 679 on April 19. Advertiser file photo

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for the region has been holding steady at 510 since July 16, according data provided on the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health website on July 21.

Of those, 452 have recovered and 37 have died.

As of July 21, Dufferin County was reporting no active cases and no one in hospital with the coronavirus. It has seen a total of 189 cases; 165 are resolved and 24 deaths.

Wellington County has one new case; six active cases; but no one in hospital with the virus. There has been a total of 85 cases in Wellington since the onset; 77 have been resolved and two died.

In Guelph, four new cases were reported; 14 cases are still active, and no one is currently in hospital. Guelph has had a total 229 cases; 204 resolved; and 11 deaths.

Currently there are three outbreaks in two institutions in Guelph. The Elliott Community reported one staff member with COVID-19 on July 10. The Village of Riverside Glen went into outbreak on July 17 with four staff in the long-term care operation, and four in the retirement home side.
