The 15th annual Hanover Indoor Pipe Band contest will be held this Saturday at the arena complex here – and it could be the last one for that building.

The arena will soon be demolished.

The solo contests start at 9:45am and the bands will start competitions at 1:30pm.

This year there are 16 bands from as far away as Sudbury and Kingston. Other bands are from Fergus, Guelph, Hamilton, Toronto, and Forest.

The adjudicators are experienced in such competitions internationally and have conducted seminars across North American about piping and drumming.

The event is a non profit one, with the competitors receiving cash prizes.

The event is licensed and the organizers are offering Scottish food, including pies, bridies, and sausage rolls, plus pizza.

Admission is $5 and children under 12 are free. For more information, call Mike Mackay at 519-364-6846.
