A free Living On Less workshop will run again from Jan. 16 through March 5 on Monday mornings from 9:30am to noon, with a light breakfast included.
The workshop will be held at St. James Church at 86 Glasgow St. N.
The purpose is enabling people to live on less financially and environmentally by bringing existing resources together (different people lead each session, focusing on such things as housing and health, food and eating, and financial planning), and the invitation is for participants to bring their own wealth of experience.
As part of the series, there is also a community kitchen offered, where participants cook together using recipes that are health-conscious and thrifty. There is no religious focus as part of the workshop.
The workshop is open to anyone, and the atmosphere is one of enabling and empowerment and sharing together. There are some spots for childcare (also free) available, but they are limited, and registration is required.
The sponsors are the Guelph Community Foundation, United Way, Credit Union and St. James the Apostle Anglican Church.
