List grows for those seeking election in Centre Wellington

As the July 27 nomination deadline nears, more people are beginning to file papers in Centre Wellington to seek a council seat in this year’s municipal election.

Running for mayor are curr mayor Kelly Linton and current councillor Fred Morris.

Ward 1: Incumbent Don Fisher will face off against Ian MacRae.

Ward 2: Incumbent Kirk McElwain is running against Kim Jefferson.

Ward 3: Incumbent Dean Workman will square off against Robert Foster.

Ward 4: Currently this is a three-way race between Vinnie Green, Neil Dunsmore and Paul Whitaker.

Ward 5: Incumbent councillor Stephen Kitras will go up against Kent Allison.

Ward 6: As of early afternoon on July 24, the only uncontested seat is ward 6 with Steven VanLeeuwen running.

Wellington County

County Ward 4: This is now a four-way race amongst Ross Chaulk, Penny Renken, Jake Bouwman and Wayne Baker. This ward is comprised of portions of Centre Wellington and Wellington North.

County Ward 5: Currently uncontested with incumbent Mary Lloyd having filed.

County Ward 6: A two-way race between incumbent Shawn Watters and Diane Ballantyne.

School boards

English Public: A two-way race between incumbent Barbara Lustgarten-Evoy an Jesse Wootton;

English Separate: Andrew Finoro (incumbent);

French Separate: Genevière Grenier (incumbent); and,

French Public: Denis Trudel (incumbent).
