Link up with Duff’s raises more than $12,000

PUSLINCH – The annual Link Up with Duff’s “Fun Day with A Purpose” was held on May 24.

A sold-out crowd of 84 golfers, 40 euchre players and 132 hearty eaters enjoyed a fun-filled day to support Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington and Hospice Wellington, officials say.

Thanks to many supporters and participants, an unofficial tally indicates the event raised between $12,000 and $13,000, which will aid in the work and services these two organizations provide to our community, officials stated in a press release.

Diana Kayser was the champion MVP and won the honour of wearing the Duff’s Masters Green Jacket.

Barry Dawn was the recipient of the Euchre Crown with high score.

The event included a steak dinner with all the trimmings, and the emcees kept everyone entertained with jokes and trivia, officials say.

Several silent auction items were generously donated by local businesses and everyone was able to take home a prize.

Two specially-made elderberry pies and one cherry pie were bid on in the live auction.

Also auctioned off was a patio party gift package donated by GrandWay Events Centre in Elora.

“We are grateful to the participants, corporate sponsors, local businesses, organizations and individuals in the community and all the workers who helped to make this day a marvelous success,” officials state.
