Lever suggests wall of mayors rather than wardens

Mayor Dennis Lever would like to revise the township’s current commemoration to politicians within the local council chambers.

He noted that Wellington County has its “wall of wardens” and the township has something similar in its wall of Puslinch politicians who have served as Wellington County warden.

However on May 2, Lever suggested more pictures of past mayors and reeves. Councillor Matthew Bulmer said until he saw the agenda, he hadn’t considered it was an issue.

Although there are eight photos currently installed in the chamber, Lever believed he was the 33rd mayor/reeve of the township.

Councillor Susan Fielding said the glitch might be that it could be difficult to get photographs of everyone, stating the history of Puslinch now extends back almost 200 years.

Lever said consideration could be given to a listing of names as well. He also noted there used to be photographs of past councils. He said he’d like those pictures to return.

CAO Karen Landry said the council photos in the office date back to the 1980s.
