LEIGHTON, Catharine E. (nee Brennan) Last of the “Brennan Girls” - Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, following a short illness, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, on October 28, 2017 in her 83rd year. Beloved mother of Mary Thomson (Gary Tuck), Bill Leighton (Cheryl), Robert Leighton (Laurie) and Janet Leighton-Dorie. Loving grandmother of Andrew, Brianna, Tyler, Kelsey, Cameron, Joshua, Jennifer and Brittany and great grandmother of Alyvia, Addisyn, Declyn, Daltyn, Caine, Raya and Casey. Survived by her sister-in-law Sarah Leighton of Northern Ireland. Predeceased by her husband John Leighton (1978), her grandson Sean Thomson (2010) and sisters Shirley Lasby (2009) and Janet Peart (2012). Friends were received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service was conducted at the Presbyterian Church of Rockwood, 262 Main Street South in Rockwood, on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 at 11:00am. Interment at Rockwood Cemetery.
