On March 4 at about 4pm Wellington County OPP were called about a gas theft here.

Police say new evidence has emerged and the OPP is asking the public for help to identify the suspect caught on camera.

“Eyewitness reports describe the suspect as a white male, 25 to 35 years old with short cropped hair wearing a black jacket, grey sweater, blue jeans, running shoes, and dark sunglasses,” police stated in a press release.

The suspect was driving a white four door Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 pickup truck with Ontario license plate #AP11135. The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario  says the plates were reported as “missing.”

“The OPP feel that the vehicle may or may not have these plates still attached,” police stated. “It is quite possible that the plates have been switched out.”

The OPP is also investigating this truck in relation to vehicle entries in Wellington County.

Police are also asking citizens to routinely check their licence plates to ensure they have not been tampered with or stolen.
