Lawn bowling club gets new lighting
Let there be light – The Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club has new lights, thanks to a $102,000 grant from the Ontario Trillim Foundation. The project included removing the old utility poles and installing new poles and energy- efficient lighting. The electrical panel inside the clubhouse was also upgraded. The entire project should reduce energy by about 75 per cent, club officials say. The club held a special ceremony on Sept. 16. Front row, from left, are: club grounds keeper George Gay, Kyle Speers of Speers Electric, which installed electrical components, Centre Wellington Hydro board member Michael Chapman, councillor Ian McRae and club president Ian Burns.
