Latest OMB hearing with Dam cost Wellington North almost $40,000
A township resident’s win in two Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) hearings was a costly experience for Wellington North.
Jens Dam won two OMB hearings regarding attempted changes to the township development charge bylaw and the retroactivity of those changes.
The latest ruling was made in March 2013.
In a freedom of information request, Dam received a letter stating the “legal fees spent in relation to [that] Ontario Municipal Board hearing was $26,055 including HST. Additionally, the township incurred consulting fees during the proceedings totalling $13,036.”
The information was received from township CAO Mike Givens.
