Knapton, Roy: Suddenly at home in Fergus in his 78th year. Ronald Leroy, beloved husband and partner of Betty for almost 56 years. Dearest Dad to Wendy Yundt (late Paul) Jim (Patti) Knapton and Heather Knapton (Vahid). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Derek and Brian Yundt, and Meghan, Kurtis and Evan Knapton, and sister Betty (Al) Smuck. Pre-deceased by his parents Myrtle and Elmer and infant son Ronald Leroy Jr. (1958). Roy has been a member of St. Andrews Church and the Hilltop Singers. He has been a Mason for 52 years and most recently a member of Mercer Masonic Lodge A.F and A.M. 347. He owned and operated A-1 Sanitation until his retirement 12 years ago. Roy was one of the good guys and will be truly missed by many. The family received their friends at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME, 280 St. David St. S. Fergus from 3-5 and 7-9pm on Tuesday. The funeral service was held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11am with lunch following immediately after the service. Burial was held at North Nissouri Cemetery at 11am on Thursday, May 26th. The Masonic service was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 6:30pm.
