KidsAbility announces national accreditation

KidsAbility Foundation has  announced it has achieved the distinction of accreditation under Imagine Canada’s national standards program.

The standards program is a Canada-wide set of shared standards for charities and non-profits designed to demonstrate their compliance in five fundamental areas: board governance; financial accountability and transparency; fundraising; staff management; and volunteer involvement.

“The recent accreditation wouldn’t have been possible without the conscientious effort put forth by the staff and Board members at KidsAbility Foundation” said KidsAbility Foundation executive director Lisa Talbot.

“Working as a team, we were able to increase our organization’s transparency and capacity, and to strengthen public confidence in KidsAbility Foundation and the nonprofit sector as a whole – one of the key goals set forth by the standards program.”

KidsAbility Foundation was evaluated by a group of volunteers from the sector.

“Through this … process, public confidence in our organization can only be enhanced,” states Talbot.
