Karapanos, Demetrios; Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus on Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Demetrios Karapanos at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of Irini (Koutoupis) Karapanos. Loving father of Vasilios (Maria), Anastasia Kanaras (Kosta) of Belleville, Giorgos (Maria) of Greece, the late Thanasi Karapanos, Yionna (Bobby) of Belleville, Aphrodite (Brian) of Guelph and Leonidas (Susan) of Guelph. Loving Papou of Ari, Demetrios, Giorgos, Theodora, Aglaia, Demetra, Angelo and Achillia. Will be fondly remembered by Sophia and “Bazanaki” Stavros Goumakos and had a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews.Friends called at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 6 to 9pm Friday). Trisaia prayer service at the Funeral Home on Friday at 8pm. Service was held at the St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, 50 Dovercliffe Road, Guelph on Saturday, September 25 at 9:30am. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital or to St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
