Juveniles make final at Silver Stick tournament
The Drayton Juveniles hockey team made it to the finals and was recognized for Sportsmanship at a regional International Silver Stick Tournament in Lucknow last weekend.
Drayton downed South Bruce 3-2 in its first game on Dec. 4. A 3-3 tie with Belmont and a 5-0 win over Ripley on Dec. 6 put Drayton in the semi-final against Newcastle on Dec. 7.
Drayton beat Newcastle 4-3 to advance to the final against Schomberg that afternoon.
Although Schomberg won 4-3 in overtime, Drayton received the Eleanor Henderson Award for Sportsmanship.
