Junior short story contest now accepting submissions

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County’s annual Olive and Fred Robins Junior Short Story Contest is now accepting submissions until Oct. 31.

Original short stories ranging between 500 and 750 words are accepted from children in grades 4, 5 and 6 either going to school or living in Wellington County.

Judged on creativity, originality, story structure and writing quality and style, top stories will be awarded a cash prize of $150 and all stories will be entered into a contest to win a $50 gift card from Elora’s Magic Pebbles Books.

Winning stories are published online at the library’s website and in the Wellington Advertiser.

Grade 6 student Cayleigh Lubbers and Grade 5 student Shaye Mulder were the two top prize winners for 2020.
