JOHNSON, Edward Leslie; It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Leslie Johnson on January 4, 2008 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus. He will be lovingly remembered by wife Barbara, sister Emily Brooks, sister in law Dolly Johnson, their families, and his many students who gave him so much support these past few years. Edward was predeceased by his sisters Frances West, Muriel Harrod and brother George Johnson.
Born in Hamilton, ON on March 28, 1923. Edward was a tenor soloist at Central Presbyterian Church and with the Dofasco Male Chorus, founding member and leading tenor of the Hamilton Opera Company, and long time voice teacher in Hamilton and Fergus. In place of a formal service we will celebrate Edward’s achievements on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St.S. Fergus from 2-4pm.
