Jill Barber brings romance to River Run Centre Feb. 14
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the River Run Centre presents an evening with the romantic jazz chanteuse, Jill Barber.
The Canadian songstress will take the main stage at 8pm on Feb.14 as part of the Macquarie Music Series.
While she writes and performs her own original songs, Barber’s style offers a nostalgic nod to a bygone era. She is unmistakably fresh and contemporary while her music captures the best of Edith Piaf, Ella Fitzgerald and the golden age of jazz.
Barber has released a new CD Chansons to the Canadian market.
The album features covers of great French language songs from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Even the album’s liner notes are ‘en francais’.
Tickets start at $29 for adults or $27 for students and seniors. $5 eyeGO tickets are available for high school students with valid ID. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID.
