Jazz, gospel show Friday at church

A Music for the Soul gospel concert features some of the area’s finest jazz musicians.

John Zadro, Music Director of Guelph’s Norfolk Street United Church, has assembled musicians to create an auth­entic “modern urban gos­pel” sound, seasoned with a bit of “southern gospel.”.

The concert will feature the vocals of Guelph’s  Brenda Lewis and Cambridge’s Amber Lee Morais. The quintet is rounded out by Zadro on piano and Hammond organ; Kitch­ener’s Andy Klaehn on saxophone and clarinet; and, Conestogo-based Gary Tomlin on drums/

The concert is this Friday at, 8pm at Norfolk Street United Church, 75 Norfolk Street (at Cork Street), in downtown Guelph.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for youths.

Dessert and refresh­ments included and there are door prizes.
