Irrigation bags help newly planted trees
What’s this? - Gypsy moth fighter? Lawn mower protector? No - it’s an irrigation bag and you’ll see them on newly planted trees throughout Centre Wellington. Irrigation bags help young roots get established by slowly releasing water through pin hole openings at the base of the bag. If you have a tree fitted with an irrigation bag on your property, please fill it up once a week using a garden hose or watering can. The Township will collect irrigation bags on public trees after two years. For more information about trees and tree care, visit: eloraenvironmentcentre.ca. Submitted photo
