Ireland, Phyllis (nee Talbot) of Markham, passed away peacefully at Markham-Stouffville Hospital on December 18th, 2010, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Bill Ireland (1972). Loving mother to John Ireland (Linda) and Kerry Schmid. Proud Grandmother of Carolyn, Natalie, Melodie and Daniel. Dear sister to Melville (Eileen) Talbot, Murray (June) Talbot and Lois Hurren and sister-in-law to Thelma Talbot, David (Joan) Ireland, Patricia (Ken) Wettlaufer, Bob (Sharon) and Peter (Jean) Ireland. Predeceased by brother Floyd Talbot, sister-in-law Margaret Walinshaw and brother-in-law Lorne Hurren and Gordon Walinshaw. Will be remembered by her many relatives and friends. Phyllis was a former WREN in WWII and Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. Friends were received at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North Markham Rd. Markham, ON., on Monday from 6-9pm. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday at 1pm in the chapel, with visiting one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. (http.dixongarlandfuneral.com)
