Incumbent councillor Ron Elliott seeking re-election

Incumbent councillor Ron Elliott will seek re-election to town council here.

Elliott is the last incumbent councillor to declare his intentions for the Oct. 27 election. Six of the seven current council members are once again seeking office.

Mayor George Bridge is seeking re-election and faces a challenge from curent deputy mayor Terry Fisk.

Current councillor Ron Faulkner is running for deputy mayor.

Elliott joins incumbents Dave Turton and Mary Lou Colwell, former deputy mayor Judy Dirksen and newcomer Geoff Gunson in seeking one of the five councillor positions.

Current councillor Rick Hembly has stated he does not intend to run for office.

The Minto Chamber of Commerce is planning to host a candidates meeting at 7pm on Sept. 22 at the community centre in Clifford.
