Councillors here have given the thumbs up to serving hot chocolate at this year’s Christmas parade in Mount Forest.

The move followed a request sent in by Colleen Matthews on behalf of the Mount Forest Pentecostal Church.

Her letter to council stated, “For the Christmas parade in Mount Forest on Dec. 5, our church would like to hand out free hot chocolate to the bystanders watching the parade.

“We are asking first of all if this is okay and secondly, we were wondering about setting up the canopy tent booth on the grass between the library and the Roxy theatre.”

She noted that if council had an alternative spot, the group would like it to remain near the parade route.

Councillors approved the request without changes.
