Homeowner detains man trying to break into vehicle
On April 19 at about 3:30am Wellington County OPP officers were dispatched to a “mischief in progress” on South River Road here.
Police say the complainant caught a man trying to break into a vehicle in his driveway and, after a brief foot chase, was able to detain the man.
Mathew Saylor, 40, of Fergus, was charged with trespassing at night. He is to appear in Guelph court on May 25.
