Holiday Market Box Series returns to county, Guelph

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Seasonally-themed holiday boxes will be arriving on doorsteps next month, but they aren’t coming from Santa.

The Holiday Farmers’ Market Box has returned thanks to the county initiative, Taste Real.

Those interested can purchase and choose from two boxes: Home for the Holidays and Holiday Treats, each delivering a selection of curated products.

All products come from local farmers’ markets across the county and Guelph from farmers, makers, producers and artisans.

Those interested can select one or both themed boxes and can choose either a home delivery or pick up from selected locations.

Each holiday box is available for $89 online at wellington.ca/form/holiday-farmers-market-box.

A charge of $5 will be applied for each delivery location.

Orders are to be placed by Dec. 1, and boxes are slated for delivery on Dec. 12 in a Taste Real cooler bag to keep.

Pick up locations include:

– Wellington County Museum and Archives, Aboyne from 1:30 to 5pm;

– Guelph Farmer’s Market from 3 to 6pm; and

– Town of Minto office, 5941 Highway 89, from 3 to 5pm.

Give the gift of local food

This year, the Market Box program has partnered with the Wellington County social services department to support access to healthy, nutritious food.

Those ordering a market box have the option to donate to a Market Bucks program which enables recipients to purchase food at Wellington County farmers’ markets.
